Motorcycle Crash Kills Young Woman, Rider Arrested for DUI South of Roy
Pierce County, WA (April 30, 2025) – A 21-year-old woman tragically lost her life Saturday evening after a horrific traffic crash on State Route 507.
According to authorities, the fatal incident happened around 9 p.m. near 332nd Street South and State Route 507.
Reports say that the woman died after a speeding and allegedly intoxicated motorcyclist lost control of his bike south of Roy.
Pierce County deputies responded to the crash, where they found the woman deceased at the scene.
The 26-year-old motorcyclist had reportedly arrived at a party earlier that evening and offered rides. While giving the woman a ride, he allegedly failed to see an intersection, swerved, and lost control. Both the rider and his passenger were thrown from the motorcycle. Neither was wearing a helmet.
Authorities confirmed speed played a major role in the crash. The collision blocked SR-507 for nearly five hours. Washington State Patrol administered a preliminary breath test at the scene, which reportedly showed the rider’s blood-alcohol level was well above the legal limit.
Deputies arrested the man and booked him into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide and DUI.
