Union City, CA (February 19, 2025) – A pedestrian was killed Monday evening, after a traumatic traffic crash near Almaden Boulevard.

According to the Union City Police Department, the fatal collision happened at around 8:42 p.m. near Alvarado-Niles Road.

Reports say that a vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian in Union City.

Authorities say that the crash occurred near Almaden Boulevard, prompting authorities to close the eastbound lanes of Alvarado-Niles Road for several hours.

Emergency responders pronounced the adult male pedestrian dead at the scene. The driver remained on-site and is cooperating with the investigation. Police do not believe alcohol played a role in the crash.
