Shocking Traffic Collision on Highway 101 Led to Injuries [Oxnard, CA]

Oxnard, CA (April 20, 2025) On Friday morning, people were hurt after a shocking traffic collision on Highway 101.

According to authorities, the frightening crash happened at around 9:15 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the 101 Freeway from the Oxnard Boulevard on-ramp.

Reports say that police arrested a 37-year-old woman on suspicion of DUI after she caused a wrong-way crash involving multiple vehicles on the 101 Freeway in Oxnard .

Around 9:15 a.m., the woman entered going the wrong way. After realizing the mistake, she attempted a U-turn and collided with an oncoming semi-truck.

The impact spun her Chevrolet Equinox SUV into the median. A Ford F-150 truck slowed down to avoid the wreck, but a Jeep Grand Cherokee rear-ended it.

A 33-year-old Oxnard woman driving the Jeep suffered moderate injuries and was transported to St. John’s Hospital. The Ford driver, a 38-year-old Ventura woman, sustained minor injuries. The semi-truck driver remained unharmed.

Authorities closed the northbound lanes for about an hour to investigate and clear the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
