Horrendous Traffic Accident on Interstate 20 Resulted in Injuries [Baird, TX]

Baird, TX (January 20, 2024) On Friday evening, people were hurt and hospitalized after a traffic accident on Interstate 20.

According to authorities, the 2-vehicle collision happened around 9:55 p.m. near the 310-mile marker on I-20.

Officials say that a speeding Chevrolet truck was passing multiple vehicles on the shoulder of the road heading west on I-20. The driver of the Chevy failed to stay in its lane and crashed into a guardrail. The crash caused the pickup to lose one of its front tires, which in turn struck a truck tractor towing a semi-trailer on I-20.

Authorities say that the vehicle had 4 occupants, medics airlifted the driver to the hospital, and its front passenger was taken to the hospital via ambulance. Both suffered injuries.

Furthermore, officials say that one of the other occupants was trapped inside the wreckage, and rescuers were able to free the patient.

Officials say that the condition of other people involved is currently undisclosed at this time.
