Suspect Arrested After Crash on South Broadway in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA (March 28, 2025) – One person sustained injuries in a crash on South Broadway.

A suspect injured a tow truck driver on Friday while stealing his vehicle in the Historic South-Central area of Los Angeles.

According to Los Angeles Police Department Officer David Cuellar, the theft happened around 10:30 a.m. in the 3900 block of South Broadway. 

The tow truck driver had stepped out to adjust the vehicle he was towing when the suspect jumped in and drove off.

As the suspect fled, he crashed into an occupied vehicle at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Vermont Avenue. 

He then collided with parked cars at Normandie Avenue, where officers arrested him, Cuellar said.

Emergency responders transported the injured tow truck driver to a hospital by ambulance. 

Although officials did not disclose the extent of his injuries, medical staff listed his vital signs as stable, Cuellar reported.
