Three Killed in Grayson County Crash; Driver Faces Manslaughter Charges
Grayson County, TX (May 19, 2025) – 41-year-old Tommy Moorehead III of Leonard and 2 children were killed after a tragic crash on FM 3133.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the deadly collision happened 12:30 p.m. on FM 3133.
Reports say that the crash in Grayson County on Saturday afternoon claimed the lives of a man and two children.
Authorities say that 63-year-old Rocky Patterson of Rowlett was driving a 2007 Dodge 3500 westbound on FM 3133 behind a 2017 Toyota Tacoma.
As the vehicles ascended a hill, Patterson attempted to pass the Toyota in a no-passing zone and collided head-on with a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado. The impact also involved the Toyota.
The Chevrolet Silverado caught fire, and when troopers arrived at the scene, they pronounced the driver, Moorehead III of Leonard, and two children, ages 4 and 6, dead.
Emergency responders treated the Toyota driver at the scene.
Trenton ISD in Fannin County confirmed that 6-year-old Lynnlee Moorehead, one of the crash victims, was a first-grade student in the district. Grief counselors have been made available at the school.
Authorities transported Patterson to a hospital, and on Sunday, Texas Highway Patrol troopers arrested him on three counts of manslaughter. He was booked into Grayson County Jail.
