26-Year-Old Costa Mesa Man Killed in Crash on Intersection of Irvine Avenue and Orchard Drive
NEWPORT BEACH, CA (February 18, 2018) – A motorcyclist was struck and killed by a car near the intersection of Irvine Avenue and Orchard Drive on Saturday morning around 10:11 AM.
The victim was identified by the coroner’s office on Sunday as 26-year-old Todd Anthony Davis Jr. He was reportedly riding an orange 2014 Yamaha FZ-09 northbound on Irvine Ave, when he was struck by a white 2015 Mazda CX-5 SUV that was turning left on eastbound Orchard Dr from southbound Irvine.
The woman driving the SUV was not injured during the collision. Davis was ejected from him motorcycle, and suffered multiple serious injuries. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died about an hour later.
