27-Year-Old Bicyclist Fatally Struck by Truck near Woodruff Avenue

 
BELLFLOWER, CA (August 13, 2018) – A bicyclist lost his life Monday afternoon after he was hit by a truck on Somerset Boulevard. The deceased victim was later identified as 27-year-old Bellflower resident, Timothy Maurice Lewis.
 
As per reports, the incident took place at about 2:40 PM near the intersection of Somerset Boulevard and Woodruff Avenue. Lewis was traveling westbound against traffic when his bicycle collided with a truck.
 
The victim sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers. Meanwhile, the unidentified truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. As of this moment, no arrests have been made.
 
An investigation is ongoing to determine the events that led to the fatal crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information regarding this incident is currently not available to the public.
