Nicholas Immesberger Killed in DUI Car Accident after Leaving The Woods Jupiter

JUPITER, FL (May 14, 2019) – The family of a man who worked as a bartender at Tiger Woods‘ restaurant and died in a DUI crash last December is suing the golf star.

Nicholas Immesberger died December 10 in a solo-car crash in Port Salerno. Immesberger crashed his car while driving home after work. Immesberger, who played football at Bridewater College in western Virginia, lost control of his car on his way home and swerved across three lanes before going airborne and overturning in Port Salerno

Reports say Immesberger was over-served alcohol for about three hours after his restaurant shift concluded. His blood alcohol level was .256 at the time of the fatal crash, more than three times the legal limit.

Now a lawsuit filed in Palm Beach County is targeting Tiger Woods, claiming the golf star allowed his Florida restaurant to serve alcohol to a struggling alcoholic.

Woods’ girlfriend Erica Herman, cited as the general manager of Woods’ restaurant, has also been hit with a wrongful death lawsuit.

In the lawsuit, Woods knew or should have known that the 24-year-old bartender had been an alcoholic. Although he may or may not have been present at the restaurant at the time, Woods may still be held liable as the owner of the restaurant under state alcohol laws.

More information detailed that the employees and management at The Woods had the understanding that Immesberger struggled with alcoholism and attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings to treat his disease.

Yet despite this understanding, the employees continued to serve the 24-year-old.

Per USA Today, the lawsuit plans to seek in excess of $15,000. Woods, who recently received the Presidential Medal of Freedom after winning The Masters, is currently preparing for the PGA Championship. Woods, 43, has not yet commented on the situation.
