US 69 Vehicle Collision Kills Three
Wood County, TX (January 11, 2023) – On Saturday, Tiffany Sammons, 39, of Longview, Ashley Martin, 44, of Allen, and Aiden Wood, 16, of Allen, died in a vehicle collision on US 69.
The traffic accident took place around 9:30 p.m. one-mile southeast of Alba.
Reports say that a 2017 Ford Explorer was northwest on the freeway while a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe was southeast. The Santa Fe crossed over the center line into the oncoming lane of traffic and crashed head-on with the Ford Explorer.
Afterward, a 2020 Dodge Ram 3500 collided with the passenger side of the Ford Explorer. The vehicle continued into the trees on the south side of US 69.
DPS said Tiffany Sammons, Ashley Martin, and Aiden Wood, died in the collision.
The driver of the Dodge Ram, Frank Schweighart, 64, of Caddo Mills, was not injured in the US 69 vehicle collision.
In the meantime, officers are investigating the cause of the crash.
