Three Injured in Head-On Crash on Highway 154 [Santa Barbara, CA]

Two Vehicles Collide Head-On Near Lake Cachuma Recreation Area

 
SANTA BARBARA, CA (September 13, 2019) – Three people injured in a head-on crash on Highway 154 on Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened about a quarter-mile east of the entrance to the Lake Cachuma Recreation Area at approximately 8:30 AM. Based on a report from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the crash involved a minivan and a pickup truck. the truck ended up on its side.
 
Police extricated a woman in the minivan and sent her via Calstar medical helicopter to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. In addition, paramedics transported a girl to the hospital via an ambulance with minor injuries. The driver of the pickup sustained minor injuries. However, paramedics treated the driver at the scene.
 
Both lanes of the highway became blocked while a clearing operation performed in the area.
 
Police did not release any additional information at this time. However, an investigation is on-going.
