VALLEY CENTER, CA (October 24, 2019) — Three people sustained injuries after a head-on accident on Highway 76 in Pala on Monday, October 21.
 
The crash happened just before 4:00 p.m., when the driver of a westbound Volkswagen Tiguan came upon slow-moving traffic near Couser Canyon Road. The driver of the Volkswagen swerved left to prevent a collision. However, he eventually struck an oncoming Chrysler 300 entering an eastbound lane.
 
Officers later identified the Volkswagen driver as a 38-year-old Oceanside resident. Emergency responders brought him to Palomar Medical Center for further treatment. They also rushed the other motorist, a 69-year-old Van Nuys man, and that driver’s 85-year-old female passenger to the same trauma center. All three had different complaints of pain considered to be minor injuries.
 
Furthermore, the accident shut down traffic lanes in the area for around 45 minutes.
