Three Injured, Driver Arrested in Victorville DUI Fiery Crash on 15 Freeway

 
VICTORVILLE, CA (August 12, 2019) — Three people were hurt following a DUI fiery collision on 15 Freeway on Saturday, August 10.
 
Shortly before 4:00 a.m., California Highway Patrol Officers and Victorville City Fire rushed to a fiery traffic collision. The accident happened on the southbound 15 Freeway between Roy Rogers Drive and Palmdale Road.
 
 
Upon arrival, firefighters found a fully engulfed sedan near the center divider with the driver outside of the car.
 
A red Chevy Camaro also involved in the incident had some major damage. It faced sideways and blocked multiple lanes of traffic.
 
CHP officers closed all lanes of traffic while firefighters put out the vehicle fire and treated the injured.
 
Two ground ambulances brought three patients with minor injuries to a local hospital.
 
A CHP officer conducted a field sobriety test on the driver of the engulfed vehicle. After failing the test, they handcuffed the male driver and placed him in a patrol unit.
 
The official cause of the fiery incident is under investigation by the Victorville CHP station.
