Fatality Reported in Independence Pedestrian Accident
Independence, MO (April 18, 2025) – Thomas Laroque, 20, of Independence, was killed in a 23rd Street accident early Wednesday morning.
The fatal crash happened around 6:15 a.m. at the intersection with Union Avenue.
Officers said Thomas Laroque was crossing 23rd Street when he was struck by an eastbound 2007 Toyota Prius.
Immediately, Laroque was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. He was declared deceased Thursday.
The Prius driver remained at the scene and cooperated with IPD’s cooperation.
