1 Dead in Tucson Pedestrian Crash on Valencia Road near 12th Avenue
TUCSON, AZ (January 10, 2022) – Saturday morning, 20-year-old Thomas James West died in a pedestrian accident on Valencia Road near 12th Avenue.
The incident occurred at about 8:00 a.m. in the 600 block of W Valencia Road, near 12th Avenue.
When the authorities arrived, they transported the pedestrian to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
However, the pedestrian later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The authorities notified Thomas James West’s family.
Meanwhile, the investigation revealed that West tried to cross Valencia Road from south to north. However, a westbound red 1995 Ford F150 driving in the curb lane hit him. Moreover, West failed to use the crosswalk at the time of the crash.
After the crash, the Ford driver remained at the scene and didn’t show signs of impairment.
Moreover, the Tucson Police said that mid-block crossing played a big role in the crash. Also, the authorities didn’t issue any citations or charges.
The authorities continue to investigate the crash.
