Romeo Marquez, Teruyo Washington, Lawrence Washington Dead in Camarillo Car Accidents

CAMARILLO, CA (July 15, 2019) – Three people died in two separate collisions in Camarillo on July 12.

The two fatal collisions happened just minutes apart and took the lives of two Camarillo residents and a Panorama City male resident. The first crash happened on Las Posas Road and Laguna Road just after 7:50 p.m.

71-year-old Teruyo Washington drove a northbound 2009 Honda along Las Posas. However, an eastbound 2018 Dodge Challenger on Laguna Road failed to stop at a stop sign and hit the Honda.

Teruyo Washington and a male passenger, 76-year-old Lawrence Washington, both died at the scene.

Meanwhile, 23-year-old Juan Llamos, the Challenger driver and 21-year-old Anthony Zaragoza, the passenger, both sustained minor injuries. However, responders transported them to Los Robles Hospital.

The second collision involving a single semi-truck killed 31-year-old Romeo Marquez of Panorama City.

Marquez drove a northbound 2012 Peterbilt truck towing another semi-truck along Fairway Drive at around 7:50 p.m. However, Marquez lost control and went off the road just north of Deseo Drive.

“The truck rolled down an embankment into an adjacent golf course,” officials revealed.

Marquez died at the scene. However, it’s still unknown why Marquez lost control.

The two collisions remain under active investigation.
