Salinas, CA (October 6, 2020) – Monday night, an 18-year-old from Marina died in a car crash on Espinosa Road.
The fatal accident happened at around 11:00 p.m. on October 5.
According to reports, a Nissan Sentra was speeding on Espinosa Road west of Christensen Road in too foggy conditions and low visibility.
Meanwhile, a Freightliner was pulling a lettuce harvesting machine, entering Espinosa Road from a private driveway on the north side of the roadway, heading east.
Moreover, the tractor was within the eastbound lane of Espinosa Road, and the harvesting machine was across both lanes when the Nissan Sentra approached.
The collision caused significant damage to the car, tearing the roof back, damaged the windshield, and lodged beneath the lower frame rail of the harvester.
