1 Dead in Fremont Bicycle Accident on Hansen Avenue and Dutra Way

 
FREMONT, CA (July 15, 2021) – Wednesday, a teenager died in a bicycle crash on Hansen Avenue and Dutra Way which happened last July 4.
 
At about 9:30 p.m., the officers came to a report of a crash involving a bicycle and a vehicle. Moreover, it happened on Hansen Avenue and Dutra Way.
 
Upon their arrival, they located a 15-year-old Fremont resident with a life-threatening injury. Thus, they provided treatment before transporting him to a trauma center. However, the teen succumbed to his injuries last Wednesday.
 
“I have two teenagers myself, and I cannot imagine the grief and sorrow this young man’s family is experiencing,” police Chief Kimberly Petersen said. “On behalf of the Fremont Police Department, I offer our deepest condolences to the young man’s family and friends.”
 
At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased.
 
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old Fremont driver remained at the scene and has been cooperative with the investigation. Also, the authorities do not believe that alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. Moreover, the officers do not believe that the driver is responsible. Thus, they “do not anticipate making any arrests.”
