LIVINGSTON, CA (September 8, 2021) – Tuesday morning, a teen sustained injuries in a bicycle crash on Vinewood Avenue near Robin Avenue.
 
According to Merced-area CHP, the incident happened at around 7:21 a.m. Moreover, it occurred on Vinewood Avenue, west of Robin Avenue.
 
Reports revealed that an eastbound Ford F-750 two-axle truck traveled at about 45 mph. Then, it clipped a 14-year-old male bicyclist traveling east on Vinewood Avenue.
 
Furthermore, 45-year-old truck driver Lane Johnson of Atwater pulled over after the crash and called 911. Paramedics transported the victim to Valley Children’s Hospital via helicopter with major injuries.
 
Moreover, officials said that Johnson claimed that the sun distracted his eyes and that he didn’t see the victim.
 
Meanwhile, authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
