Teen Boy Dies in Solo-Vehicle Crash Near Northeast 319th Street [Battle Ground, WA]

Battle Ground, WA (November 03, 2021) – On Tuesday, a teenage boy died and two others suffered injuries in a crash near Northeast 319th Street.

The deputies, along with other emergency crews, responded to the crash scene at 9:15 p.m. near the intersection.

When they arrived, they found the vehicle fully engulfed in fire. 

Responding officers said they found the right front passenger dead inside the vehicle.

Moreover, detectives said a 16-year-old was driving a 2005 Nissan Frontier pickup truck southbound on Northeast 152nd Avenue at a high rate of speed. 

The vehicle went off the roadway, hit, and sheared a power pole.  

Afterward, the vehicle continued off the roadway, then it struck a large oak tree.

Emergency responders took the driver and a 15-year-old passenger to area hospitals. There is no update on their conditions. 

Officers also said that the deceased passenger was close to the age of the other two teens in the vehicle.

Meanwhile, the driver’s and passengers’ names will not be released due to their ages. The officers are still investigating, though they said it is clear that excessive speed is a contributing factor in the fatal incident near Northeast 319th Street.
