Teen Bicyclist Injured after Truck Crash on Landis Street [San Diego, CA]

Bicyclist Hurt in Truck Crash near 36th Street in San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 21, 2019) – A teen bicyclist suffered a fractured leg after a truck crash on Landis Street, near 36th Street Wednesday night.
 
According to San Diego police Officer John Buttle, the collision took place around 10:35 p.m.
 
Police say a 17-year-old boy suffered a fractured femur when his eastbound BMX-style bicycle collided with the passenger door of a 2006 Toyota Tacoma. Police further added that the 28-year-old man operating the Toyota was traveling southbound on 36th Street.
 
The bicycle bore no working lights or brakes, Buttle added, when it collided with the pickup at the intersection.
 
Paramedics arrived shortly after and transported the teen to a nearby hospital. The pickup truck driver stayed at the scene and was not believed to be intoxicated.
