Ted Fowler and Sara Doty, Injured in Long Beach Rollover Crash

 
Long Beach, WA (March 22, 2021) – On Saturday, 46-year-old Ted Fowler of Idaho Falls, ID, and others were injured in a rollover crash on the beach a mile south of the Cranberry Road beach.
 
The accident happened at about 12:48 P.M.
 
A 2000 GMC Yukon was moving along the beach at a fast speed while doing “cookies or donuts.”
 
As a result, the vehicle fishtailed, lost control, and rolled over up to three times.
 
Finally, the vehicle rested on its wheels at the edge of the waterline.
 
Fowler, the driver, incurred life-threatening injuries. Rescuers airlifted him from Ocean Beach Hospital (OBH) to a Portland-area hospital.
 
Additionally, 36-year-old Sara Doty, also of Idaho Falls, Fowler’s only adult passenger, incurred non-fatal injuries. Responders rushed her to Ocean Beach Hospital (OBH). They said she is expected to be treated and released.
 
Moreover, an 8-year-old boy was injured in the accident. He was transported to Ocean Beach Hospital (OBH). Then, rescuers transported him by ground ambulance to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland for emergency surgery to his left arm.
 
Furthermore, three other children ranging in ages from 2-8 years of age incurred minor injuries in the collision.
 
Meanwhile, at least one of the occupants was thrown when the vehicle rolled over. However, we haven’t been able to confirm who was that occupant.
 
WSP stated the cause of the crash was “exceeding a reasonable safe speed and fishtailing or circling on the beach.” It’s uncertain if any charges are going to be filed against Fowler for the incident.
