Tanya Gil Killed, Issa Mojaddidi Injured, Roberto Sanchez Uninjured in 2-Car Wreck on Gilman Springs Road Near Bridge Street

SAN JACINTO, CA (February 1, 2019) – One person was killed, and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on Gilman Springs Road near Bridge Street.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 30-year-old Issa Mojaddidi was driving a stolen silver 1998 Dodge Durango westbound on Gilman Springs Road and in his passenger seat was 31-year-old Tanya Gil, of Hemet.

Traveling in the opposite direction was a 2009 Volvo truck tractor towing a 40-foot semi-trailer for Mother’s Nutritional Center, driven by 57-year-old Roberto Magallon Sanchez.

For unknown reasons, Mojaddidi allowed the vehicle to drift toward the northern shoulder of Gilman Springs Road, spurring him to turn left in an attempt to move the car back onto the westbound lanes; however, the Dodge Durango lost control and veered into the eastbound lanes where it was struck by the Volvo truck.

Gil was ejected due to the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene by Riverside County Fire.

The Dodge ruptured into flames, but three engine crews arrived on time to distinguish it.

Sanchez was unharmed in the crash but Mojaddidi suffered serious injuries and was brought to Riverside University Health System for immediate treatment.

Impairment has not been ruled out as a possible factor in this crash.

To the family and friends of Tanya Gil, we’d like to express our deepest thoughts and sympathies to you.
