Tanner Berzett of Asotin Arrested in DUI Collision at Webb Slough [St. John, WA]

St.John, WA (June 20, 2023) – At about 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, the authorities arrested Tanner Berzett, 23, of Asotin, Washington, following a DUI collision at Webb Slough.

Responding officers located a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck on its side and the emergency medical services (EMS) personnel was providing aid to the injured individuals. 

The Chevrolet driver, Berzett, admitted to the police that he was driving too fast in the campground area. 

Apparently, he attempted to swing the rear end of the vehicle by pressing the accelerator, instead, the vehicle bounced and ultimately rolled over which injured his passengers. Five passengers were in the pickup truck when the collision took place. 

Officers noticed signs of impairment in Berzett’s behavior during their investigation with him.

One of the passengers incurred severe injuries and was airlifted to Spokane, where they were diagnosed with multiple fractures while another passenger with a fracture was taken by ambulance to Whitman Hospital in Colfax. 

The remaining passengers sustained minor injuries.

Moreover, the authorities arrested Berzett for DUI. They booked him into the Whitman County Jail on two counts of vehicular assault due to the nature of the injuries sustained by his passengers on the DUI collision at Webb Slough.
