1 Dead and 3 Injured in Tehama County Multi-Vehicle Crash on Old Highway 99
TEHAMA COUNTY, CA (December 17, 2019) – A woman died while three others sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle collision on Old Highway 99.
The incident occurred on Old Highway 99 and Rodeo Avenue at around 5:45 a.m. on December 10.
According to reports, 21-year-old Fernando Leon of Corning drove a northbound Honda Civic on Old Highway 99 when he attempted to drove past another car. However, he’s short of time to merge back in the northbound lane. As a result, Leon hit a southbound Ford head-on.
The Honda stopped on the westbound shoulder while the Ford vehicle blocked southbound lanes for several hours.
Afterward, Bradley Myers driving a southbound Chevy pickup truck hit the Ford.
Responders took Ford’s passenger, 37-year-old Tamera Elaine Flynn, by flight care. Unfortunately, she died. Meanwhile, Ford driver Jarrod Loyd Flynn, 36, sustained broken ankle and possible internal injuries.
CHP also revealed that the Ford occupants didn’t wear seatbelts during the crash. But the airbags got deployed.
Meanwhile, Fernando Leon and 46-year-old Bradley Myers of Red Bluff both sustained minor injuries.
Authorities ruled out alcohol or drugs as a factor in the crash.
