Talona Nathaniel Killed, Drivers Injured in Tracy Car Accident on 11th Street near Banta Road
TRACY, CA (June 28, 2019) — Officials identified the 17-year-old girl killed in a two-vehicle crash in Tracy as Talona Nathaniel.
According to California High Patrol Officer Joe Whitlock, the collision happened on 11th Street, east of Banta Road around 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 27.
Whitlock stated that an 18-year-old woman drove a 2008 Toyota Camry eastbound on 11th Street. At the same time, a 66-year-old man drove a 1997 Saturn west on 11th Street approaching Banta Road.
For an undetermined reason, the woman lost control of the Camry and then crossed into the westbound lanes of traffic. After that, the Camry came into the path of the Saturn and collided into the Camry’s passenger side.
Nathaniel, who was a passenger in the Camry, died on impact, according to the CHP.
Whitlock stated that both drivers involved in the crash sustained major injuries. Paramedics rushed them to a hospital.
According to the CHP, everyone wore their seat belts at the time of the accident.
