SUV Overturns in Collision on 15 Freeway [San Diego, CA]

Three-Vehicle Crash Blocks Lanes near Mira Mesa Boulevard

SAN DIEGO, CA (November 25, 2018) – An SUV overturned in a collision on 15 Freeway in northbound lanes, late Sunday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash took place at approximately 11:10 AM, between Mira Mesa Boulevard and Mercy Road. Based on their report, three vehicles were involved in the pile-up, including an SUV that overturned and two that ended up on opposite sides of the freeway.

One person was transported to a nearby hospital by the rescuers from the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. There is no update on the victim’s current medical condition.

The three right lanes of the northbound side of Interstate 5 were blocked but has since reopened. A clearing operation was performed while the police conducted an investigation to determine cause of the accident and other contributing factors.
