4 People Including Bystanders Hospitalized After Crash on Church Street

Stockton, CA (August 8, 2020) – On Wednesday night, Stockton police are chasing suspects when they crashed into bystanders on Church Street.

The incident happened on August 5 at about 8:30 p.m. when officers from Stockton saw a car run a red light on MLK Boulevard and Lincoln Street intersection.

During a traffic stop, the suspects begin to drive carelessly trying to get away from the police. They ended up driving the wrong way on Center Street colliding into a bystander’s vehicle near Church Street.

Afterward, police confirmed that there were at least 4 people injured from the incident. Emergency responders took them to the hospital in critical but stable condition.

Moreover, the police found a handgun in the suspects’ vehicle. The suspects identified as 18-year-old and 16-year-old males will face weapon charges.

The perverse actions of a reckless driver can increase the likelihood of traffic collisions. May this be a reminder to always abide by all the driving laws to prevent devastating consequences of a road accident.
