Placer County Auto Accident on Fiddyment Road and Athens Avenue

 
PLACER COUNTY, CA (January 12, 2021) – Monday morning, an officer shot a suspect after a crash on Fiddyment Road and Athens Avenue.
 
At about 1:20 a.m., a Placer County Sheriff’s deputy tried to pull over a man in his 20s driving a Toyota SUV. This incident happened in the parking lot of Thunder Valley Casino. However, as the deputy tried to approach the driver to contact the suspect, the person accelerated and dragged the deputy with him.
 
The officer has been dragged for around 100 feet before the deputy shot two rounds and hit the suspect.
 
However, the suspect continued driving on Fiddyment Road and Athens Avenue. Eventually, he stopped his car and authorities took him into custody.
 
Responders took the suspect to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
 
Meanwhile, the deputy sustained minor injuries was released from a hospital.
 
Furthermore, reports confirmed that a woman in her 20s was also an occupant inside the car. However, Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Lt. Nelsen Resendes revealed that she’s not responding to deputies.
 
The investigation shut down Fiddyment Road.
