Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Highway 101 in Sunnyvale

 
SUNNYVALE, CA (November 18, 2018) – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car early Sunday morning on Highway 101 in Sunnyvale.
 
The fatal crash happened around 1:08 a.m. on the northbound direction of the highway at Mathilda Avenue off-ramp.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking along northbound lanes on Highway 101 when a gray Nissan Rougue struck the victim. The car was reportedly driving recklessly prior to the crash.
 
Emergency crews immediately responded but despite life saving efforts, the pedestrian did not survive and was declared dead. The identity of the victim has not yet been released pending next of kin notification.
 
No additional information was provided at this time. Sunnyvale Police officials are still investigating the incident.
