Hit-and-Run Driver Involved in Collision near Avocado Avenue

EL CAJON, CA (March 13, 2019) – A stolen car smashed into a restaurant Wednesday afternoon, in a crash on Main Street.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 1:00 PM. First responders arrived near the intersection of Avocado Avenue soon after.

Reports indicate the grey four-door Lexus went through the front windows of Ali Baba Mediterranean restaurant. An assessment showed that the driver was likely speeding while turning left onto Main Street, consequently causing her to lose control.

The paramedics were requested for medical assistance. Fortunately, there were no injuries recorded, and none of the occupants required further treatment.

The police department later found the Lexus abandoned near the intersection of Taft and Pauline Avenues, about a mile-and-a-half away from the scene. It was reported to have been stolen out of San Diego.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s helicopter flew over the area to assist in the search of the hit-and-run driver. Additional information has yet to be released.

If you find yourself trapped in an emergency, do not flee the scene after the incident. Wait for the arrival of the authorities for an investigation and the paramedics for needed medical attention.
