STOCKTON, CA – Woman Killed in Head-On Crash at Highway 99 Frontage Road and Morada Lane

Fatal Head-On Collision on Highway 99 Frontage Road in Stockton

 
STOCKTON, CA (February 11, 2019) – A woman was killed following a head-on crash Sunday afternoon in northeast Stockton, CHP officials said.
 
The fatal crash happened around 12:40 p.m. on Highway 99 Frontage Road at Morada Lane.
 
A silver older model Honda Accord was heading northbound on Highway 99 Frontage Road from Morada Lane at 35 to 40 mph, when it cut a right curve in the road and traveled straight into the southbound lane, where it collided head-on with a Subaru Forester that was traveling southbound.
 
A female passenger in the Honda, believed to be in her 50s, was killed in the crash. Her name has not yet been released by the San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office pending next of kin notification.
 
The driver of the Honda suffered moderate to serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to an area trauma hospital. The two remaining passengers also were transported to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
The occupants of the Subaru, believed to be a family of three including one child, were unharmed.
 
All parties in both vehicles were wearing seat belts, and neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be a factor in the crash.
 
There were no skid marks on the dry pavement behind the Honda, indicating the driver may not have braked prior to the impact.
 
Further investigation of this tragic crash is underway.
