Steven Armstrong Dead in Antioch Pedestrian Crash on Highway 4

 
ANTIOCH, CA (May 11, 2020) – On Friday night, Steven Armstrong died in a pedestrian crash on Highway 4 in Antioch, the police revealed.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, they are still working to determine why Mr. Armstrong was walking on Highway 4. Unfortunately, he died after being hit by a vehicle.
 
The authorities first received a report of the collision at 9:20 p.m. on the westbound lanes of Highway 4, near the Laurel Road off-ramp.
 
The Contra Costa County coroner’s office later revealed the pedestrian as 29-year-old Steven Armstrong, a resident of Pinole. Meanwhile, the driver who hit him was a 23-year-old female resident of Bethel Island.
 
The investigators stated that the man went into the path of the Nissan sedan. Despite efforts of avoiding a crash, the female driver hit him.
 
As a result, the male pedestrian suffered traumatic injuries which led to death.
 
The pedestrian crash also shut down all westbound lanes of Highway 4, just east of Laurel Road.
 
The incident also led the California Highway Patrol to issue a Sig-alert at 9:35 p.m. The lanes of the highway have since reopened at 11:02 p.m.
