3 People Dies after Four-Vehicle Crash in US Highway 93
Elko, NV (February 17, 2021) – Thursday evening, a 24-year-old Sterling J. Price of Visalia, a 25-year-old Ramon M. Penaand 25-year-old Bryann Mendoza, both of Susanville, California, died after a four-vehicle crash on US Highway 93.
The Elko fatal crash happened at 6 p.m; on February 11.
NHP said the deadly crash involved four vehicles, confirming three fatalities and two injuries; one is a juvenile in critical condition.
Investigators said a white Dodge Ram pickup traveled south near Thousand Springs when it entered the northbound lane and sideswiped a U-Haul moving van traveling toward Jackpot.
Moreover, the U-Haul was followed by a blue Ram pickup and a Toyota Tacoma pickup. After sideswiping the U-Haul, the white Dodge then struck the front of the blue Ram pickup.
The Dodge then rotated toward the highway’s center and was subsequently struck by the Toyota, which caused the Dodge to overturn onto its right side.
“Unfortunately, the driver of the white Dodge Ram and two occupants of the blue Ram pickup succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene,” stated NHP.
Authorities confirmed impairment as a factor in this crash.
