East Avenue Hit-and-Run Crash Kills 71-Year-Old Oroville Man
Chico, CA (December 11, 2023) On Sunday morning, 71-year-old Stephen Wilson of Oroville died after a tragic hit-and-run crash on East Avenue
According to the Chico Police Department, the fatal hit-and-run crash happened just after midnight on the 1500 block of East Avenue.
Reports say that a vehicle struck Wilson crossing the street, and they fled the scene without stopping to render aid to the fallen man.
Authorities later found the suspect vehicle, abandoned in an orchard in Chico.
Officials say that Wilson was declared dead at the scene.
Police are searching for the suspect driver who remains at large.
