Stephen Britton Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Accident

 
GARBERVILLE, CA (July 16, 2019) – A 36-year-old male pedestrian died after a driver struck him while he’s laying on Highway 162.
 
The incident happened on July 13 around 5:00 a.m. in the westbound traffic lane of Highway 162 for unknown reasons. 66-year-old Stephen Britton of Covelo in a 2002 Chevrolet hauled a load of hay on his trailer.
 
While he came near the Hidden Oaks Casino, he saw something in the roadway. He tried to slow down but he couldn’t stop in time. Britton then stopped at the casino parking lot and his three passengers checked on what they hit. It was not until they stopped did they realize they had hit a pedestrian.
 
The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries in the accident. However, police did not release any additional information regarding the fatal incident at this time.
