16-Year-Old Dies From Injuries Sustained in Fresno Head-On Crash That Killed Her Father

Fresno, CA (September 3, 2020) – On Thursday, the CHP revealed that Stephanie Faz, 16, succumbed to injuries she sustained last month in a big-rig crash on Highway 180 and Chateau Fresno.

The fatal semi-truck accident also took the life of her father, 68-year-old Joe Faz.

California Highway Patrol said the collision happened at about 1:40 p.m. on August 19, near the Chateau Fresno Avenue.

Reports said a vehicle moved west on Highway 180. When the vehicle slowed down to make a turn onto Chateau Fresno Avenue, a semi-truck behind it abruptly stopped, losing control in the process.

This inadvertently caused the big rig to go into the eastbound lanes, where it crashed with an oncoming car.

Paramedics pronounced the passenger of the vehicle, Joe Faz, dead at the scene. Meanwhile, they took his daughter, Stephanie to the Community Regional Medical Center.

Furthermore, CHP revealed on September 3rd that Stephanie Faz succumbed to her injuries.

Additionally, her family set up a GoFundMe in order to raise money for memorial expenses. Please consider donating to the cause.
