19-Year-Old University of San Diego Student Fatally Injured in Accident near State Route 52

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 12, 2018) – A young woman was struck and killed by two vehicles on the Interstate 805, early Saturday morning. She was later identified as 19-year-old Stella Yeh.
 
As per reports, the accident occurred around 1:30 AM on the I-805, just south of State Route 52. Yeh was walking southbound on the highway, when she was struck by two oncoming vehicles.
 
Both cars remained at the scene and cooperated with police officials, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Jake Sanchez. Neither of their identities have been released to the public at this time.
 
Friends of Yeh’s said that she was with them in Point Loma, and got into a rideshare to go back to her dorm. Authorities are investigating how she ended up on the freeway, on-foot and alone. No additional information has been disclosed.
 
A memorial service was held on Monday, in memory of Yeh, at USD’s Founders Chapel. It was done around sunset, her favorite time of day, according to family members.


Heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Stella Yeh. She was a second-year student at the University of San Diego, and was majoring in Behavioral Neuroscience with the College of Arts and Sciences. The young woman was known for her beautiful heart. May she rest in peace.
