1 Person Hurt in Tye Auto Accident on Interstate 20 and Mile Marker 277

TYE, TX (March 20, 2025) – Wednesday morning, a startling vehicle crash on Interstate 20 and Mile Marker 277 injured one person.

The incident happened at around 3:45 a.m. on Interstate 20 at mile marker 277.

According to the Tye Police Department, a vehicle drove around a police barricade for an earlier crash and struck a firefighter.

Moreover, responders transported the firefighter to a hospital with minor injuries.

Furthermore, officers confirmed that the Tye firefighter was responding to a semi-truck and trailer that were fully engulfed in flames and was working at the scene when the incident happened.

Meanwhile, the crash closed Interstate 20 but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
