1 Person Hurt in Bakersfield Auto Accident on Highway 178 near Upper Richbar

BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 3, 2024) – On Monday, a startling single-vehicle crash on Highway 178 near Upper Richbar led to injuries.

The incident happened at around 5:00 p.m. on Highway 178 past the Upper Richbar area.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a black pick-up truck crashed into the side of a mountain for still unknown reasons.

Moreover, authorities said that at least one person sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Furthermore, officers confirmed that no closures on Highway 178 were made after the crash.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
