1 Injured in Redding Pedestrian Accident on Hilltop Drive and Presidio Street

REDDING, CA (December 31, 2023) – Saturday morning, a startling pedestrian crash on Hilltop Drive and Presidio Street sent 1 person to the hospital.

The incident happened at around 6:17 a.m. on Hilltop Drive, south of Presidio Street.

According to an initial investigation, a male pedestrian tried to cross Hilltop Drive from the east side of the street to the west, outside of a marked crosswalk.

Redding PD added that the man had been walking in the rain and in dark clothes.

Meanwhile, a northbound sedan on Hilltop Drive with two adult occupants hit the pedestrian who ran in front of the sedan.

As a result, responders took the man to a local hospital with major injuries.

Moreover, the sedan driver didn’t show any signs of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Also, the authorities ruled out speed as a factor in the crash.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
