OCOTILLO, CA (December 30, 2024) – Friday night, a startling multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 8 and Dunaway Road injured several people.

The incident began with a traffic stop near Ocotillo.

The driver of the car was uncooperative with officers, causing traffic to be halted until the situation was managed.

Around 9:25 p.m., a crash involving several vehicles occurred on Interstate 8 near Dunaway Road.

Multiple people were injured, with one victim airlifted to a hospital outside the Valley by REACH Air Ambulance and four others transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 8 were closed for an extended period as emergency crews worked at the scene.
