NORTH COUNTY, CA (February 18, 2025) – Monday morning, a startling motorcycle crash on Interstate 5 and State Route 76 injured one person.
The incident happened around 9:43 a.m. on the Interstate 5 connector to eastbound State Route 76.
According to Police Chief Taurino Valdovinos, a vehicle struck a motorcycle officer who was returning to the station after being a member of the motorcycle escort for Vice President JD Vance.
Moreover, responders transported the officer to a hospital with minor injuries.
Furthermore, the vehicle’s driver remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities.
Meanwhile, the crash closed all lanes of the eastbound 76 Freeway at the Interstate 5 connector, as well as the east and westbound onramps to Interstate 5 North and northbound Interstate 5 off-ramp to westbound State Route 76.
