Injuries Reported in Santa Barbara Bicycle Crash on 3500 State Street
SANTA BARBARA, CA (August 29, 2024) – Wednesday morning, a startling bicycle accident on 3500 State Street injured 1 person.
Reports said that the incident happened just after 8:00 a.m. in the 3500 block of State Street.
When the Santa Barbara City firefighters and a ground ambulance responded, they determined that a bicyclist and a pickup truck were both traveling westbound on State Street when the two crashed.
The bicyclist was trapped beneath the wheel of the truck, necessitating extrication.
Firefighters employed jacks to raise the truck and free the male cyclist, who suffered moderate injuries. He was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by ground ambulance.
The pickup truck driver was unharmed. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
