Stacey King and Jonathan Pepper Killed in Rollover Collision on Highway 42 [Kilgore, TX]

Kilgore, TX (July 21, 2023) – At about 6:15 a.m. on July 17, Jonathan Pepper, 35, of Kilgore, and Stacey King, 52, of Longview, were killed in a rollover collision on Highway 42.

The accident report from DPS stated that Pepper was driving a Chevrolet Silverado south on the highway with King as a passenger.

Apparently, Pepper was driving the vehicle at a speed that was unsafe to negotiate an upcoming curve in the roadway. As a result, the vehicle left the road and rolled several times.

Both Pepper and King were declared dead at the scene, and DPS said that neither of them was wearing a seatbelt during the collision.
