Early Morning Head-On Collision in Somis Kills 1 and Injures 2 Others

 
SOMIS, CA (December 23, 2018) – One person was killed following a head-on collision early Sunday morning in Somis, according to the California Highway Patrol.
 
The fatal collision happened around 12:18 a.m. on Highway 118, also known as Los Angeles Avenue, at Bradley Road.
 
CHP officials said that two vehicles collided head-on, one of them had flipped over due to the impact. Several other vehicles stopped in the area.
 
While the cause of the crash has not yet been determined, one occupant suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were injured and taken to a hospital for treatment.
 
An Edison pole was also damaged in the crash.
 
The highway, just between Somis Road and Aggen Road, was closed for almost six hours early Sunday morning. It was re-opened shortly after 6:00 a.m.
 
It is unknown if speed, drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors of the crash. An investigation is still ongoing.
