SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA (November 2, 2022) – Tuesday morning, 21-year-old Sixto Cervantes died in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near Hood Franklin Road.
 
The incident happened just before 1:00 a.m. on Interstate 5 near Hood Franklin Road.
 
According to reports, Sixto Cervantes drove a 2014 Nissan headed north and veered to the left. Then, it went over the center median and into oncoming traffic at an unknown speed.
 
Reports confirmed that the Nissan crashed into a GMC truck with three occupants on southbound Interstate 5. Also, they noted that the GMC traveled around 70 miles per hour.
 
Then, the impact caused the Nissan to spin out, ejecting the driver in the process. Officers added that the driver wore a seat belt at the time of the incident.
 
As a result, Sixto Cervantes sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the 38-year-old GMC male driver from Lodi sustained major injuries. Also, the GMC passengers suffered no injuries in the crash.
 
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
