Major Injury Single-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 at Weott Off-Ramp

 
Humboldt County, CA (July 24, 2020)– On Thursday morning, a single-vehicle crash was reported on Highway 101 that left two people injured.
 
It occurred on July 23 at about 10:13 a.m. while responders were in the middle of an unrelated incident nearby. Redcrest fire was dispatched to the scene and found that a single vehicle went off southbound Highway 101 onto Weott Heights Road.
 
Two people were stuck in the vehicle but were able to extricate themselves. Garberville ambulance arrived at the scene and another ambulance was requested to transport two patients.
 
The two people reportedly suffered moderate injuries as a result of the crash.
 
Furthermore, a dog identified as a brown/tan, approximately 30lbs, named MJ ran off after the crash. The dog is Skittish and if anyone sees her, CHP should be called immediately.
 
The investigation of a single-vehicle crash on Highway 101 is on-going.
