Mattawa Woman Killed, Four Others Injured in Suspected DUI Crash in Grant County
Grant County, WA (October 27, 2024) On Friday evening, 33-year-old Silvia Cruz and 3 juvenile were hurt in a suspected DUI collision on Road 24-Southwest.
According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), the fatal crash happened at the intersection with Road U-Southwest.
Authorities say that the tragic two-vehicle crash near Mattawa claimed the life of Cruz and left four others injured.
Officials say that Cruz was driving east from the intersection of Road 24-Southwest when a southbound 2003 Honda driven by 25-year-old Jose Antonio Alejo Ferrer traveling south on Road U-Southwest collided with her vehicle.
Cruz was pronounced dead at the scene. Her three juvenile passengers sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital in Richland for medical care. Ferrer also suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital. Authorities suspect Ferrer was speeding and driving under the influence.
The Sweet Lawyers team sends heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Silvia Cruz during this difficult time.
