San Luis Obispo 6-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 and Los Osos Valley Road

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (January 17, 2021) – Friday afternoon, authorities issued a SigAlert after a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 101 and Los Osos Valley Road.

The incident occurred at about 4:15 p.m. on Highway 101 at the Los Osos Valley Road off-ramp. The California Highway Patrol online incident log revealed that six vehicles played a role in the crash.

As a result, some of the vehicles had major damage and were disabled on the road. Also, the crash led authorities to issue a SigAlert on Highway 101. This was done to let the crews move the vehicles and clean the scene.

Then, the authorities reopened a single lane of Highway 101 by 5:00 p.m.

At this time, the authorities didn’t report any injuries in the crash.

If you feel yourself drifting into other lanes due to fatigue or any other reason, safely pull over and rest before continuing to drive. You can also call a friend or an Uber to pick you up if you feel like it would be unsafe to drive.

Ways to Deal with Multi-Vehicle Accidents

Each year, around 20-50 million people are injured or become disabled due to an auto crash. To avoid suffering from such incidents, practice safe driving habits on the road at all times.

As a driver, it’s your responsibility to do it even when it is empty, even when there is no police officer around to make sure you make, say, a complete stop.

Even with the best driving habits, it is still important to know what to do if you find yourself in a motor vehicle accident

Steve Baric of Sweet Lawyers says, “The most valuable step you can take in response to a vehicle crash is hiring a personal injury attorney. Personal injury attorneys prioritize your recovery. At the same time, they will secure your future from further losses a severe accident can bring.”
